Yes. Sitia is on Crete, so you can drop off at almost any point on the island — Heraklion (HER), Chania (CHQ), Rethymno, Agios Nikolaos, and most other Cretan towns are available. Just enter your preferred drop-off location when booking.
You can collect from Sitia port, the small Sitia airport (JSH), your hotel, or a custom location anywhere in the east Crete area. Add your preferred pickup point when booking.
An economy or compact car works well for the north coast road and town driving. If you plan on visiting the Zakros or Richtis gorge tracks, a small SUV gives useful extra ground clearance — the final stretches to Kato Zakros and Xerokambos are narrow unpaved tracks, not mountain off-road.
Vai Beach is 25–30 minutes. Toplou Monastery is 20–25 minutes. Richtis Gorge is 20–30 minutes. Kato Zakros and Xerokambos are 75–90 minutes. Agios Nikolaos is 60–75 minutes. Heraklion is around 2–2.5 hours along the north coast road.
Yes. Fill up in Sitia before you head south or east — there are no fuel stations between Sitia and Kato Zakros or Xerokambos. The same applies to cash and ATMs: draw what you need in Sitia, as there are none at the far east end of the island.
Yes. The main north coast road is well-maintained and straightforward. Mountain roads towards the gorges are narrow with passing places — drive slowly, sound your horn at blind corners, and never attempt gorge tracks at night. Avoid driving on unpaved tracks: all insurance, including Premium, is voided off-road.
Two days covers the essentials: Vai, Toplou, Richtis Gorge, and an afternoon in Sitia itself. Add a third day for Kato Zakros, Xerokambos, and Mochlos — these are far enough east that rushing them spoils the trip. If you want to also reach Agios Nikolaos, Elounda, or Heraklion, plan for four days or more.
Book in minutes, choose flexible insurance, and collect your car where you stay.
