Local rates, no port markups
Direct prices from trusted Ikarian partners at Evdilos; what you book is exactly what you pay at the desk.
Evdilos port handover
All pickups and returns happen at Evdilos port, the main north-coast ferry gateway to Ikaria — perfectly positioned for Armenistis, Christos Raches and the Blue Zone.
Rent without Credit Card
We provide the supplier's direct Premium Insurance (Zero Excess), so you don't need a credit card for a deposit. Pay with cash or debit on arrival at the port.
Real Insurance, No Middlemen Claims
Unlike other brokers, you are insured directly by the car rental company. No 'pay and claim' reimbursement headaches on Ikaria's winding mountain roads.
Fleet for mountains & beaches
Compact cars for narrow village lanes, small SUVs for tracks to Nas, Karkinagri and the south coast, automatics for relaxed Blue Zone cruising.
North-coast beaches, longevity villages and a working fishing harbor — all a short drive from where your ferry docks.

Stroll the picturesque north-coast harbor of Ikaria, watch fishing boats return at sunset, and dine at quayside tavernas just steps from where you pick up your car.

The closest classic surf town to Evdilos — long golden sandy beaches like Mesakti and Livadi facing the open Aegean, perfect for swimming, surfing and sunset tavernas.

The famous Blue Zone village in the hills above Armenistis, where shops open at midnight and panigiria festivals last until dawn — a true taste of Ikarian longevity culture, just a short drive from Evdilos.

Drive west along the coast to the wild Nas beach at the mouth of the Halaris river, swim where the gorge meets the sea, and hike upriver past the ancient ruins of the Temple of Artemis Tauropolos.
From your north-coast pickup, Ikaria's hot springs, ancient towers, mountain monasteries and wild south coast are all an unforgettable drive away.

Evdilos port handover
Share your ferry name and ETA so the Karpadu agent can meet you on the dockside the moment you roll off — no taxis or shuttles needed to start your Ikarian adventure.
Mountain roads, slow pace
Ikaria's roads are scenic but winding and narrow, especially the central ridge crossing from Evdilos to Agios Kirykos. Allow 1.5x the time Google Maps suggests, and never overtake on blind curves.
Fuel up before the south & west
Petrol stations are concentrated around Evdilos, Armenistis and Agios Kirykos. If you head to Karkinagri, Manganitis or remote south-coast villages, top up first — there are no pumps for hours.
Summer panigiria nights
Ikarian village festivals (panigiria) run from June to September and locals dance until dawn. Many of the biggest panigiria are in villages near Evdilos — drive home carefully and watch for pedestrians.
North coast beach parking
Parking at Mesakti, Livadi and Nas fills fast after 11:00 in July and August. From Evdilos you're close enough to arrive before 10:00 or visit late afternoon.
Cash for tavernas & remote villages
Cards work in Evdilos, Armenistis and Agios Kirykos, but bring cash for mountain kafenia, Christos Raches shops, and family-run tavernas at Nas, Karkinagri and Manganitis.
When you choose Premium Insurance (Zero Excess), the rental supplier waives the security deposit entirely. You can pay by debit card or cash at the Evdilos port desk — no credit card needed. Everything is covered directly through the supplier, so there's no 'pay and claim' process when you rent a car in Ikaria.
It's real, direct insurance from the car rental company in Ikaria. Unlike many brokers who sell 'reimbursement' policies requiring a credit card deposit upfront, our Premium Insurance means zero deposit and zero paperwork in the rare event of damage on Ikaria's mountain roads or gravel beach tracks.
All pickups and returns happen at Evdilos port only — the main north-coast ferry gateway to Ikaria, perfectly placed for Armenistis, Christos Raches and the Blue Zone. We do not currently offer pickup at Agios Kirykos port, Ikaria airport (JIK), or hotel addresses. Your Karpadu agent meets you kerbside on the dock as soon as your ferry arrives — no shuttle bus needed.
Currently we only handover cars at Evdilos port. If your ferry from Piraeus or the Eastern Aegean lands at Agios Kirykos, you can take a local taxi or KTEL bus across the island to Evdilos (about 50–60 minutes). We recommend choosing a ferry routing that docks at Evdilos directly when possible — most Piraeus, Mykonos, Naxos, Paros, Syros, Tinos and Samos (Karlovasi) routes do.
Returns must be at Evdilos port — the same location as pickup. You cannot take Ikarian rental cars onto the ferry to other islands or the mainland. If you plan to visit Fourni, Samos or Mykonos next, return the car before boarding your ferry.
For paved roads to Armenistis, Christos Raches, Therma and Agios Kirykos, a compact or economy car is perfect and easier on narrow village lanes. If you plan to reach Nas, Karkinagri, Manganitis or remote hiking trailheads, a small SUV gives extra clearance on rough sections. Avoid any unmarked off-road tracks — they void all insurance.
From Evdilos: Armenistis and Mesakti are 15–20 minutes, Christos Raches 20–25 minutes, Nas and the Halaris gorge 30–40 minutes, Theoktistis monastery 40–55 minutes, Agios Kirykos and Therma 55–70 minutes via the central mountain road, Drakano and Faros at the east tip 75–90 minutes, and Karkinagri on the southwest coast about 80–95 minutes.
No tolls anywhere on Ikaria. The main rules to know: speed limits are 50 km/h in villages and 70–90 km/h on open roads, headlights must be on in the central mountain tunnels, and goats often appear on rural roads — drive slowly through bends.
Yes. Evdilos has free parking along the seafront and near the port entrance. Armenistis, Christos Raches and Agios Kirykos have small public lots a short walk from the centers. In high summer, arrive before 10:00 at popular beaches like Mesakti, Livadi and Nas, where roadside parking fills quickly.
Book in minutes, choose flexible insurance with no deposit, and collect your car the moment your ferry docks at Evdilos port.
